Rattlesnake is my perzine, where I explore issues topics like healing from abuse, rediscovering personal agency, climate change, coming of age, and the importance of community and intimacy through the lens personal stories from my own life. This issue features the famous oatmeal story, a long article about climate change and preparedness via community, a story about being a Lost Boy in my elementary school’s musical production of Peter Pan, and a confession of my secret fear of bikes. The last my page of my zine also always features a resource list, which is sort of a works-cited/”stuff I’m into right now list” full of recommended reading and podcast faves. The style is pretty cut and paste and I have a couple cartoons – I like to make my zines fun to look at as well as read.
