Rattlesnake is my perzine, where I explore issues topics like healing from abuse, rediscovering personal agency, climate catastrophe, coming of age, and the importance of community and intimacy through the lens personal stories from my own life. This issue features a story about my neighbors ins a small town in Missouri, a tale of tarot and getting over my bullshit middle class aspirations in the face of apocalypse, thoughts about whiteness and colonial violence, and an explanation of why saying “I love you” is hard but important. The last my page of my zine also always features a resource list, which is sort of a works-cited/”stuff I’m into right now list” full of recommended reading and podcast faves. The style is pretty cut and paste and I have a couple cartoons – I like to make my zines fun to look at as well as read. This one in particular features an awesome collage on the back flap, if I do say so myself!
